FQJ Sponsorship for Individuals
Welcome! We appreciate your interest in becoming an annual sponsor of French Quarter Journal!
Our Mission: The Other 79
The French Quarter - one of the country’s greatest treasures - is made up of 85 blocks of fascination. Unfortunately, six blocks of commercial Bourbon Street overwhelmingly dominate public perception.
While those six boozy blocks of Bourbon can be fun on occasion, they’re not representational of the Quarter – or of New Orleans.
But you don’t hear much about the other 79 blocks – ones filled with stellar architecture, and museums and art galleries and shops – and the creative people who call the neighborhood home.
Our mission at French Quarter Journal is to “Cover the Quarter as a Community.” We tell the stories of the Other 79.
How It Works
FQJ’s unique business model is based on sustainability. We have few ads. And we don’t create firewalls because we want everyone around the world to easily access our stories. Instead, we’re supported by Annual Sponsors.
We have a set number of Annual Sponsors – 52. Currently, we have 26. When those sponsorships are filled, our basic production expenses for the year are covered.
That basic budget covers all our production expenses, with the lion’s share supporting our stellar team of local freelance writers, photographers and support crew for their standout work.
Take a Look!
Click on the links below for recent samples of things we’ve been able to accomplish with the support of Annual Sponsors! We:
We published 96 stories and features in 2024 and have even more slated in 2025.
In 2024, our site had 122k unique visitors who hailed from every state and 82 countries.
FQJ’s social media reached 2.4 million people in the first 90 days of 2025.
Between FB and Instagram, we now have 53,000 followers, nearly doubling numbers from the previous year.
FQJ has partnered with our annual sponsors Historic BK House and VCPORA (Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents and Associates) in a “Quarter Kaleidoscope” community storytelling project that launched this fall. We’re helping with outreach and in January we launch a new dedicated section of our website to host written accounts.
FQJ is collaborating with the Tennessee Williams Fest and publishing the winners of their 2025 writing contests for your reading pleasure – in a new dedicated section of our website.
In 2024 we worked closely with the Dirty Linen Night team to help promote what’s become the premier art event for the French Quarter and will continue partnering with them in 2025.
We recently launched a new “Explore Our Archives” section that makes it easy to search for stories by subject and by writer! It’ll permanently stay at the top of our Archives page to make exploration fun and easy.
New books by two of our writers - Frank Perez and John Sledge – are being published in 2025, both containing multiple essays they first published in French Quarter Journal. You can read all their FQJ work by selecting their names in our Archives.

Sponsorship Made Easy
Simply choose from the levels below and email us.
We’ll be glad to answer any additional questions you might have by letter or in a phone call. And if you’re local, we’re available to meet in person.
Since FQJ is an LLC, your Annual Sponsorship isn’t tax-deductible if you still itemize. If that’s important to you, consider expanding the publicity reach of your favorite non-profit with a gift sponsorship in their name. We’ll coordinate with them to tailor a marketing package that meets their needs.
