Dirty Linen Night 2023

Art lovers seemed unphased by the record heat during Dirty Linen Night in the French Quarter, Saturday, August 12. Perhaps the fact that 60+ galleries on Royal and Chartres Street participated, an air-conditioned island of art was never far away.

The 800 block of Chartres Street - the home block of FQJ’s office - there wasn’t as much traffic, but just as much enthusiasm.

At Trixie Minx’s Burlesque Boutique in the 800 block of Chartres

At Art and Soul NOLA, 800 block of Chartres, owner/photographer Sara Elmore had cooked up a feast for gallery guests.

At Creason’s Art Gallery, 800 Block.

Dark Matter on the 800 block of Chartres, was showcasing darker arts in style.

At 1036 Royal, artist Emilie Rhys’s gallery was packed with well wishers and patrons admiring her latest works, including a stunning self-portrait.

Kate Beck’s Alquimie at 938 Royal Street, showcases the fabric artist’s one of a kind fashions. The shop has a reputation for glamorous eye-catching window displays, which are works of art in themselves. This night, moving “manniquens” entertained the passersby.
