And on October 24th, you can double-dip! Start off with the Boo Carré Halloween Haunt at the French Market and that night, catch Krewe of Boo as it parades through the Quarter. This year’s King of Boo is James Michalopoulos! If you live in the French Quarter, you can enter the home decorating contest organized by Patio Planters of the Vieux Carré! Just Say No. Again. And Again. And Again. Our Community Partners at Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents & Associates recently released an advocacy alert, notifying the neighborhood that the City Planning Commission is considering permitting Short Term Rentals in the VCE-1. After years of fighting for protections against STRs in the French Quarter, neighborhood advocates reached a compromise that allowed them only on a portion of Bourbon St. Now the City Planning Commission and City Council are considering ANOTHER exception to the ban.
