Happy Mother’s Day!
Although many think of the French Quarter only as an adult party playhouse, the times, they are a-changing.
More families are visiting the Quarter and bringing children in for events like HNOC’s Chess Club, summer camps in local museums and student concerts at the Jazz Museum, to name a few!
But more families are living in and around the Quarter now too! So we’re introducing a new column by Elisa Cool Murphy. She’s writing about what it’s like to raise a child in the Marigny. You’ll find her first amazing column below: “I Was Called Here. He Arrived.”
You can celebrate Mom and all the other nurturing folks in your life this weekend at the Historic BK House & Garden on Saturday and the beloved Annual Mothers’ Day Concert and Picnic at Cabrini Park, made possible every year by VCPORA!
The fabulous New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra makes everyone happy and this year, there’s something new! A raffle and a hat contest judged by Poppy Tooker!
